Freedom and Invitation

I was thinking the other day about how we discern the voice of the Lord and what that has looked like for me.

In this season of discerning it, God has shown me that he is about freedom and invitation.

My inner critic or the enemy’s voice sound like accusation, condemnation, and punishment. God’s voice sounds like freedom.

The other voices sound like what being pushed into a corner feels like. God‘s voice sounds like an invitation.

FREEDOM and INVITATION. God loves setting us free and he loves inviting us into more. (Even when we’ve screwed up in big ways, God’s voice is STILL freedom and invitation!)

In my experience, hearing and discerning God’s voice are sharpened by/in these things:

-Reading and studying the Bible, which leads to learning about the character of God

-Prayer, talking AND listening

-Community with people who are honest with you and spur you on

-Worship, tapping into what we were created for
